A firm believer in plein air painting which provides a basis for all his finished work, Derek is a versatile painter working in oil, acrylic, mixed media & pastel. He exhibits nationally & internationally & has regularly shown at several major London Galleries including W H Patterson where he has exhibited for over 10 years. Derek has shown with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Royal Water Colour Society, The Pastel Society & in 2009 with The Royal Society of British Artists where he won the Daler Rowney painting award.
